Yep they are called CANNON CAMERAS.  Either look in the second hand department or buy a nice compact camera, those are your choices for a budget of $250.

If you're keen on getting a specific recommendation, here are some I would strongly recommend.  These cameras are capable of producing amazing photos, it all depends on their user.

As I said, you can look in the used department.  For the cameras you're thinking about, brand new they will cost about double what you are willing to spend.  Also, frankly until I get a sense that you're really keen into photography, those compact cameras are all I'm willing to recommend.

For 250 you cant really reccomend any more. As your rig is pretty damn high end I would guess you can save up for a larger budget in not a too long time but I would also not spend a lot of money unless you really want to get into photography.

Stick with your phone's camera until you get more into it or have a bigger budget, I wouldn't even go for a point and shoot if I were you, smartphone cameras are good enough these days to make carrying a point and shoot inconvenient and a waste of money sometimes, unless you have something specific in mind like vloggers.

If not, just pull out your phone when you see something you want to capture and save yourself the money.

Or if you have a high end point and shoot as the RX100 or say a Canon G7X. But I do agree that a point and shoot for 250 will not be that much better than a phone. Yes it will be a bit better but the question is if it is really worth those extra 250 over the phones camera.

Yes, those 2 are what I had in mind, but unless you need something very specific, there is not point to not getting a mirrorless over those 2 either.

Last point and shoot I shot with had no control at all, at least my note 7 lets me adjust SS and ISO, wb etc. its still crap compared to a dslr, but I still get to do it if I need to.
