nah it will not be able to cool a 1060 unless they make it thicker and upgade the GPU cooling a lot, it would MAX be able to handle a 1050 with current cooling system, it is fairly likely that they just stick with a 960m

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Well even if they up it to a 1050 that will be pretty good for a thin and light laptop. The 960m is alright but even at that it starts to heat like crazy.

because of the density of pascal, heat concentration is higher so temps are higher, so heck a 1050 might also be out of the window. yeah the XPS15 can already get pretty damn hot with a 960m. I would hope for them that they upgrade the cooling a bit

Nah it doesn't. Repasted and undervolted these things run at like 70C. Pretty amazing. This is at P95+Unigine Heavene load. But that's mostly the stock paste is applied like trash, the heatsink DOESNT TOUCH some components so you actually need thermal pads, and Skylake is pretty godly at undervolting. After all these aftermarket upgrades, XPS15's have the potential to run amazingly. At stock it's pretty meh.

I also want to point out there are no Kaby Lake mobile quad cores with a 10 series GPU on the market. So k. Until you can provide some more information about wtf you want in a laptop I'll just tell you to go with a MSI 16L13 or a Clevo P750DM2.
