So i'm watching this keynote and apple seems to act as if they invented the 12 core xeons in the new mac pro. Apple is a recipe company but he will never admit it. Saying the new mac pro is just so powerful and "more powerful than any other computer in the world"

on the other hand I am happy that os x is now free which I think is the next step twords os x being like windows and be able to run a on a pc.

just apple being apple, they think they invented everything. 99% of their customers won't know any better and will swallow all their BS.

A hackintosh for that money would be like a nuclear power station...

$3000 is about £1800 but I know that won't happen. Still looks nice and remember that it uses work station cards and processors so the price isn't as bad as you may think. Xeons and Firepros aren't cheap. Remember this isn't a gaming rig.

That thing is gonna overheat soooo bad or sound like a jet turbine. A Xeon + Dual-GPU cooled with one fan... The heatsink has 17(!) fins. O.o

I mean don't get me wrong, getting all of that into a small computer like that is impressive and it is a really nice looking workstation in my opinion but the price will always put me off from Apple or at least Macs in particular since I wouldn't have a use case for it.

Considering the components its actually not a bad deal. Dual FirePro's? I cant find any information on the D300 model so i am assuming its brand new, but that price was a lot lower than i expected. Now im curious if they're using undervolted chips (which i think they are) to achieve everything they're claiming. it doesnt make sense to me if theyre not

I love how all of a sudden people are experts on Apple hardware and saying stuff like, it will overheat and its most likely a slowed downed version. Where are you guys getting this information from???

Back on topic, Apple just release a number of FREE apps. iWork suite, iLife Suite, and OS X Mavericks. Who said Apple and free can't be in the same sentence? Loving this though, it is a nice way to go.
