Here's my two cents. RX 460 4GB for the gamezzz, the i5 will do well in work and productivity(and you save $20 for only 100MHz off the clock speed), and honestly the PSU @gtx1060=value Mentioned isn't terrible, just know not to put too much nice hardware behind it before upgrading

I'm looking to build a PC that can function as a home office. Something that can load spreadsheets quickly and store lots of data, and yes, I want it to play games on it relatively well.

1. Price: I'm looking to spend around $0-$600ish dollars on this build, but cheaper is preffered.

2. Aim: Like I said, this is going to be an office PC. I want something that can run office programs and, this is a big one, Adobe Photoshop and Premiere. If at all possible I would also like it to run games, such as Diablo III at a decent framerate. (I don't need anything crazy for gaming, though, because Diablo III is probably the most GPU demanding game I will ever play)

[Skipping step three because I already have a good monitor]

4. Peripherals: I already have a mouse and keyboard on stand-by, but suggestions would be nice :), I also want Windows 10

5. Why I'm Upgrading: I currently use a pre-built Dell PC (The Inspiron 660) and it runs like a mushy potato. It's slow and it gets very hot, the parts are very old and it's just time to replace it.

I went ahead and created a PC with those specifications, feedback and ideas are welcome.

Case: Corsair Carbide Series 200R [ATX Mid-Tower]

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z170X-UD5 [LGA 1151 Slot]

CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3M 3.7 GHz [LGA 1151 Slot]

CPU Cooler: COOLERMASTER RR-212X-20PM-R1 120mm

RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 8GB 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM [x1 Stick]

GPU: GeForce GTX 680 2GB DDR3 PCI-E [x1 GPU]

Power Supply: EVGA 600 B1 600W 80+ Bronze

HDD: WD Blue 1TB Desktop HDD 7200 RPM 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch [x2 HDDs']

All of this is complete guesswork on my part, due to my lack of PC knowledge. Please help :(

crap - didn't notice it was 2800 - the 500b psu is actually pretty decent for the price - which is around 40 dollars - not sure about coolers on gigabyte tho, never used them, but reviews are pretty good

It's 2800Mhz but at $75 it's one of the cheaper 16gb right now except for the one $67($72-$5) GeiL EVO. Smartphone manufacturers are to blame for the spike in DDR4 ram prices.

The gigabyte coolers being crap is exclusively for the RX 480 G1 Gaming model, all other Gigabyte 4XX's are fine.

I really like this PC, it's the cheapest here and I like that you added an SSD. Plus I like that you got most of these parts off one website! Like I said, I don't know much about PCs' so I can't really talk specs but all I can say is, good job man! (I like the case but I'll probably swap to a more professional looking one)

This is probably the PC I will build at some point :D

I also like the PC you created, and I'm pleasantly surprised by the choice of CPU. The addition of an SSD is much appreciated, and I'm happy you kept the HDD at 1TB of storage. I don't really like the case but I could swap that for a more professional looking one anyways.

This is definitely something I would consider building :D

I am absolutely LOVING this PC. I really like the CPU you picked out, the addition of 8 more GBs of RAM is much appreciated. The case is awesome, I like the GPU, and the power supply is small and non-offensive.

If I did buy a new mouse and keyboard, would you have any suggestions? I would be looking for something that functions well in an office setting, no RGB lighting or special clicky keys. As for a mouse, I only need one thing, no wires.

Overall, I love this PC, and it's probably going to be sitting on my desk soon :D (comic sans rules all)

I like this PC, the newer CPU is good. The case is beautiful and I can't complain about any of the other parts. Overall it's nice but sadly Cereal built something I like more for cheaper.

I appreciate the PC you've compiled, this would probably be my first choice if it wasn't for the price :)

And if you'd like, you can opt for the NZXT 210 or the Fractal Design Core 2300. Both of these have the same sleek and professional look

This seemed okay as I was reading down the parts list and OH GOD only 275GBs of storage. One of my "Needs" was lots of storage. (Yes I know I could add an HDD to the PC) And I'm not much of a fan of the GPU, it seems a bit beefy for what I need. Plus I don't reeeaaally want/need an SSD, that's just a plus. A regular HDD to store files in is fine.

Probably not even in the running, sorry :P

Storage you can add on for roughly $40 per TB, that RX 460 you will be stuck with.

The RX 460 and RX 470 are not even remotely close in performance.

RX 470 is close to GTX 970 performance.

RX 460 is close to GTX 950 performance.

That's exactly why I said I didn't like the PC :P
