Im looking into a new set of headphones as these turtle beaches just arent the same as my old Astro a40s. im trying to spend less than $80ish USD and looking for something that can compete with the comfort of the astros. also a detachable mic or even a cable mic is a huge plus.

thanks in advance!

nah get the OG clouds or Cloud core, the cloud II just gives you a shitty USB sound card and short jack cord.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Feel free to pm me if you have a question for me or quote me. If you want to hear what I have to say about something just tag me.

Headphones or headset? All of these recommendations are for headset, but from context, I would have to guess you're looking for a headset. For an easy all in one solution, I have to agree with the most recent recommendations for the HyperX Cloud Core (which are the gen 1 Cloud headsets, but renamed).

However!! The best in this price range is actually a pair of Phillips SHP9500 from newegg for $58 that is on sale until 10/24/2016, but this sale comes back very often. Then you pair that pair of headphones with these V-MODA BoomPro from Amazon for $30. If you don't mind used, then there are Amazon Warehouse Deals for $23-24, which would total $81.

Here are the reviews on all the products I've mentioned:

1. HyperX Cloud Core:

2. Phillips SHP9500:

3. V-MODA BoomPro:
