Adding 3rd and 4th GPU for 3dmax GPU rendering

Hi everyone. Below is my current desktop specs. Would i be able adding 3rd and 4th gpu to this machine and would it have enough power to run these ? As far as i know you do not need use of SLI for rendering.

Hi there Cereal 5 and thanks for your reply. That's great news so i can add one more gpu to it. How do i work out if my power supply will be powerfull enough and not melt anything in there ?

1000W is enough.

 

Are you sure you need that much horsepower though?

FloRolf yes 100% sure  For GPU rendering it's never enough. One of the folks using  5Titan X GPU's and he is producing amazing animation with 5min rendering  per 1 frame . If you are interested on you tube search for  Stanley Brusse. Quality is outstanding

Yes you can do it with no problems.  One caveat is depending on what you are doing the application may still require SLI to be enabled.  I'm not well versed on the subject but that's what a quick look on google indicates.  It may only be supported with professional grade cards.  Can you provide more details on which software you are going to be using?  

 

Should you?  Well I'm not so sure.  Performance scaling will likely be better than games, but probably not enough to justify the costs.  Really, if you're doing so much video rendering that you're considering 3-4 GTX 1080's why didn't you just buy a professional grade card designed for the task?

Thank you for your reply sgloux3470 I am going to use Vray RT, Octane and Fstorm. A professional grade cards not fitting budget as they are much more expensive.

Rendering does not need SLI enabled.
