Do two different RAMs malfunction?

I've a Twinmos 8GB DDR3 -1600 MHz, one of my friend is selling his G.Skill 8GB DDR3 -1600 MHz. Will these two function properly? I heard somewhere that RAMs on Dual Channel have to be of exact same manufacturer,size,clock speed etc.

My mobo has only two slots. Dual Channel

i7-3770k @ 4.5 GHz

Asrock Z77 Extreme4 

16GB DDR3 Corsair Ballistix RGB

Zotac 1070 Amp Extreme

1TB Western Digital

128GB ADATA SU800

630W Thermaltake Smart SE

It will probably work just fine. Plug it in and test before you buy. It will not hurt the ram or mobo. It will just work, or not boot at all.

It will work at the speed and timings of the slower set. Best thing to do is buy the two kits and try to see if they work together.
