Audiophile media player?

I use Winamp solely because it's the only player that allows me to EQ channels separately, using a plugin called Shibatch Super Equalizer. Frequencies in the 4-6kHz range are very painful only in my right ear, I have no idea why.

i have an old Fisher or something EQ lying around here, which has like 9 band adjusters for left, and then 9 for right, if it was a little more headphone friendly, it would fit you perfectly. 

 

EDIT: Fisher Graphic Equalizer 273 is what it's called.

Right so I would switch to media monkey or Winamp.

The DAC is okay on the card, if you want more you'd need to buy a headphone amp, not DAC.
