I was wondering if these specs can run 1440p. I've been wanting to get a 1440p monitor for awhile now. If so, any suggestions on good deals for one? http://pcpartpicker.com/list/BhB2kT

I would get a 1070. 1060 is not really a 1440p card.

I hardly have enough budget for a new monitor, let alone a 1070 and new monitor.

Which game do you play?

It can run majority of AAA on max settings at 30+ (not 60 though) fps

Battlefield 4 and 1. Maybe more in the future.

Well, its just how it is, aka, afford a new monitor or a new gpu, or wait for both. your 1060 is a decent card, I wouldn't bother upgrading to a 1070, if anything it should be 1080

1060 is enough for med-high settings, 1070 is a better 1440p card (Maxed settings).

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

Thats true. If im going to fork over $400+ for a 1070, might as well say fuck it and get a 1080.

Set AA and a few other settings down and you should have no trouble with 1440@60.

1060 is good for 1440@60 with AA turned down a notch.

I am still unsure if I should get a new monitor or not? Worst case scenario, I can just use 1440p for lower end games and 1080 for triple a. I wouldn't mind 27 inch gaming while being able to play in 1440and also watch youtube, etc at 1440p.

If you want 5760x1080, you'll need to lower settings just as you would for 3440x1440. I usually recommend X70 greens for TMG. If you have the 1060, just get a new 1440@X monitor.

In regards to Battlefield 1, if I play on Ultra with my 980ti I get frame dips down from 70s to 60s depending on the map at 1440p.

Advice. I actually run it on High since I have 144hz 1440p monitor and want that extra FPS.
