Hey,

I wanna buy a 1080 and I'd like to ask which one you'd prefer for overclocking. I heard Palit is the best choice since it has the best cooling system and is the most quiet and doesn't make a difference to other cards if you overclock it.
What do you think?

Greetings,
Konst

they all petty much cap out at aound 2100mhz . better cooler will make the card silent or run at lower temps. But you won't get extra OC out of it

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

Uhm I think about +- 720, don't wanna spend too much on it. And no I haven't, to be honest I dont really know what that is (I'm not really into tech that much ^.^)

The EVGA FTW hybrid card would probably be the best bet if you are willing to spend the $730 on it. Really great reviews and extremely low temps.. 8pin x2 power delivery. I imagine this card will net you some pretty great overclocks, providing you don't get a complete garbage chip.

That one there.

If you want to save little bit of money, EVGA 1080 Hybrid(not FTW).

Only reason suggesting FTW is because of the 2 8 pin pcie instead of a single 8 or (1) 8 and (1) 6. /shrug

If that only meant more OC.  Unfortunately, one single 8 pin is all you need and you gain nothing with 2.

Of course, the reason for using 2 8pin not necessarily MORE power but cleaner power delivery, theoretically reducing heat and allowing for more stable higher overclocks. Most review samples of the FTW hybrid are managing 2150 or a little higher overclocks staying under 55c, But it is out of OP price range in the area so moot.

FE cards are clocking the same and more with proper coolers (water).  It literally has nothing to do with more or cleaner power.  An 8 pin is already more than enough power.
