Windows cannot access USB (please insert drive)

So my windows PC is refusing to access a USB. disk manage meant shows it has a partition and Ubuntu can see the drive and read/write files and folder with no issues.

I have tried;

  1. formatting in Ubuntu with Gparted
  2. formatting in windows is disk part
  3. formatting in windows is disk management

All operations complete with no errors. I have nothing of value on the USB i just want it to work without me needing to boot a virtual machine.

Its formatted in a format that Windows cant understand.  You'll simply need to format it in a more universal format, like exFAT or something.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

I am quite sure i used fat however the drive is now a live boot drive so doesn't matter so much. I will double check and give it a go.
