Looking to replace my ThinkPad with a Surface

Hey guys I am looking at replacing my ThinkPad T430s with a Microsoft Surface Pro, the ThinkPad brand no longer meets my expectations with durability and build quality and I will not pay the price Lenovo charges for a new ThinkPad, so I want to move to better device for mobile work. What I was wondering is how reliable is the Surface Pro 4? and would it be a good choice for a small time computer tech? And should I just wait till the Surface Pro 5?
