Hi people!

I have fx8300 cpu and I bought today arctic freezer a30. I overclocked it to 4.3ghz and set vcore to 1.375v. I'm interested how high can I go with this cooler? I run prime test and thermal margine was about 13C. When playing games thermal margine is about 25-30C. But aftet 45min in prime test computer freeze, that is weird to me.

I have 970 pro gaming aura mb

2x4 gb hyperx furry 1866mhz

Thermaltake 730w psu

Amd Overdrive records thermal margin as the number of degrees C until the chip start to overheat, and thermal throttle, means the chip is running cooler while gaming which makes sense.

Drop[ the clock back to 4.2ghz and run prime again, double check your temps with something like hardware monitor and keep and eye on the vcore voltage, not so much if it matches in the bios but if it's dropping under load. I'd say 4.3ghz and 1.37v is low on voltage for an fx chip. Also keep on eye on socket temp, keep it under 65degrees.

Silent build - You know your pc is too loud when the deaf complain. Windows 98 gaming build, smells like beige
