So I just started playing battlefield 1 and I'm getting very frequent frame drops.

SPECS:

Intel i5-4460 @3.20 GHz

16GB RAM

GTX 960

I just reapplied my thermal paste, thinking that was the issue but the issue is still present. I don't think my specs are to low because my friend who has a 750ti can run it smoothly on medium settings and I can't even keep 40 fps on low.

Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

What CPU does your friend have?

An I5 -6600k is the minimum cpu, yours is significantly under-powered. Also you could try updating your drivers see if that might help out.

That's kinda BS, my 4690k (non overclocked) can run the game perfectly at 70-90 fps everything ultra.

OP: Try disabling Directx 12 in the settings, that worked for me.

My R9 280 (comparable to GTX 960) gets 70-90 fps everything ultra without framedrops, so you should expect the same (maybe a tad bit less) results.

CPU: Core i5 4690k                                                   Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97M                     RAM: 16GB HyperX Fury Red

The CPU Usages from the Beta are a godsend to what the launch CPU usages are like....

They fkd it somewhat...

Google just this past week alone... (filtered results) for BF1 CPU usage, many people are left scratching their heads...

85-100% on ALL cores in MP even on BeastRigs, 60-70% in SP (seeming normal)

Most of the time the CPU is not peaked at 100% the GPU usages are relatively normal... (for some, not all)

But it varies so much in MP.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
