MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 3G

Initial OC attempts were done primarily thru offset values, which peaked at +170. The issue I noticed with using offset is that the card never rose above 2138 MHz at 1050 mV during loops of benchmarks. Increasing the core offset would immediately crash at the start of benchmark. From there I started to mess around with the curves and was able to get the card to run at 1062 mV and a 2190 MHz OC. Even at this voltage, the card stays around the 77-82% power usage and doesn't pass 60ºC; there's clearly more power and OC headroom. No matter what point on the graph I change, I cannot get the card to run higher than 1062 mV. Might the issue be from MSI Afterburner or actual GPU limitations?

Lol. I'd be happy to just get half of that clock speed, My card (different GPU) never goes past 1085MHz :(.

temperature is not the only limit when you overclock (it's not because your card is not warm that you can keep increasing OC)... so in order to answer your question : actual GPU limitation

You're right, I think it's a good chip. I'm just wondering why I cannot get it to boost past 1.062 V.

Right, but why isn't the power rising any higher than 82% with voltage at 1.062 V? That's my real concern here. Even if I lower all of my clocks/offsets on the upper end of the curve, I still cannot get it to run past that voltage wall.

I may be wrong but I think I remember that Nvidia bridled it's cards in order to segment its market. if the 1060 3G performs the same as the 6G how could they sell the 6G ? so they put extra resistors on the PCB

I didn't think pascal GPUs allowed for overvoltage at all. the slider in my MSI afterburner is locked even though I have the option unlocked to overvolt. Granted, I still got 2050 MHz

Yeah, I don't think the OV is unlocked. Like I said, I've only ever seen my card go up to 82% power usage, so that's definitely not overvolted. According to the graphs (and Jayz video on Pascal OC), the voltage only ever goes up to 1100 mV, period.
