I need to come up with a project for one of my classes. It can be pretty much anything, with the only real restriction being that there has to be 30~ hours of work and that it has to be able to be broken up into 4~ stages. 

 

Ideally, I'd like something that's relatively easy since I still have a ton of other work I need to do, but also interesting/useful. I was thinking some kind of iOS app since it would probably be beneficial to know how to make an app, but I also don't have any experience with mobile development (so I don't know how difficult that would be). Java/Python would be my preferred languages for the non-mobile side of things. 

 

P.s. I already have an assignment that I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out dealing with back-end/web dev.

consider doing a text/picture based adventure in java using it to also draw images

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

I don't know how I would stretch that to four weeks/segments. One would be the basic TUI, two would be the GUI/drawing part...3/4?

1 basic, 2 gui, 3 drawing 4 testing and editing.

I hate GUIs, so I was thinking more of a text-based game that paths where you've been. So 2/3 would be the same week.

As in text art? My friend is writing a text game and his rooms looks something like this:

in which X is a wall, and O is a door.

P.s. how difficult would it be to develop an iOS app (nothing too complex, just something that would take 20-40 hours of work and could be broken up into 4 submission segments).
