So i recently bought an Asus P5Q Pro with 4GB ram and a E7300 as a HTPC/Spare computer sorta thing . But Whenever i boot it up , It comes up with a 'keyboard and interface error' . From what i had read online i thought it was because my Power Supply was not supplying enough power , but when i got a 460W Power Supply and plugged it in , the same error appeared . So its kinda frustrating as Ive been trying many different things , i replaced the CMOS Battery as the seller said it was dead , got a new Power Supply but nothing seems to work . Has anyone experienced this issue before? and if so How do you solve it ? Thanks for reading and thanks for the help , a video of what's happening will be in the thread as well .

Can you get into BIOS?

If not you'll have to either buy a cheap USB keyboard or borrow one from somewhere. Go through the settings until you find one that says "halt on" - you need to change it to ALL except keyboard and mouse.

It's not detecting your keyboard/mouse at POST and so isn't actually continuing the boot process.

Well I can't get into bios , but the keyboard is recognized by the motherboard though , if i press Alt+F2 , I can enter the Asustek Flash 2 Bios ROM Utility .

Try different USB ports, also if it's recognising key presses to do one thing it should for another too. Hit [del] as soon as you press start, keep pressing.

Have you tried other USB ports?

Try another keyboard, PS/2 if possible since you seem to have a problem with USB (the whole message mentions something about USB over current).

Edit: moved to troubleshooting

Tried it as well :/

Since the message mentions USB over current, try without anything plugged on the USB.

If you're still getting the message then you might have a shortcut with the case, so the next step would be to take everything out of the case and try again.

A pinched cable, a motherboard standoff touching something, it's rare but it happens that the case could be the problem. If it isn't, then you might have to send the motherboard back.

The bent pin could be what caused the problem.
