Rx480 Battlefield 4

I did some benchmarks With a fx6300 and msi r9 280 on bf4 multiplayer:

people are saying i would get 60+ fps max setting with a msi rx 480x 4gb but that wouldn't really improve much?

and what i care about more is if a msi rx 480x would keep the minimum above 60 fps at most times?

zavod 311:
Avg: 62.098 - Min: 47 - Max: 83       -ultra

Avg: 74.063 - Min: 51 - Max: 102     -high

Avg: 82.185 - Min: 57 - Max: 116     -medium

Avg: 92.031 - Min: 59 - Max: 130     -low

Hainan Resort:

Avg: 63.700 - Min: 47 - Max: 78      -ultra
Avg: 74.700 - Min: 57 - Max: 89      -high

Avg: 83.517 - Min: 64 - Max: 113    -medium

Avg: 104.867 - Min: 77 - Max: 183  -low

I appreciate any help :)

you should be able to do that at high settings

that would mean i would get a 10 fps boost for a card that should be twice as fast? (in theory)

Im just trying to help but I have not had any of these cards. My friend has an MSI r9 280 and he is abld to play at your fps and settings but I would say yes, you would get a boost of at least 10 fps

yeah it should be able to

I was hoping i would get at least a 50% boost but for 10fps more it wouldn't even be worth it ?

The RX most likely will hold 60+FPS, but I think the CPU will be bottlenecking a bit.

I have done some research for you and out of 10, the rx480 scores 8.4

RX 480: 8.4/10

R9 280: 6.7/10

GTX 970: 8.6

If you want all of the details, go here: http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-RX-480-vs-Radeon-R9-280

I tested it with 2 gpus, my friends r9 280 and a gtx 960, the results were close

They say it wouldn't improve much since your cpu is pretty much bottlenecking the RX480. I would suggest wait for Zen then upgrade your cpu +gpu.

yeah but there's also stuff like this

so its not reliable at all
use anandtech's benchmarks http://www.anandtech.com/bench/GPU16/1489
but as it was said, the cpu is the problem
