Buying motherboards isn't about performance. Thinking spending $100 more on a MoBo for performance is foolish. As seen here:

That motherboard uses the SATA bus for M.2, i.e. no different than buying a 2.5" SSD except for saving space

So just for the looks like the Asus Z170-A is reasonable but like buying the ROG Maximus in my opinion is like not worth it it. But hey, people still buy Lamborghini and i am stuck with my hyundai lol
