Hi, I just finished my first pc build yesterday and ended up with one of the fan cables sitting on top of the graphic card backboard to reach a fan header.  I was wondering if having a cable on the graphic card backboard might cause the cable to melt due to graphic card heat?  Is it okay to leave the cable where it is?

More information:

I am using the Fractal Design's define nano s and asus z170i pro-gamer motherboard.  The fan cable is noctua a-14 sleeved cable (I am particularly worried about the sleeving).

you might be able to rotate the fan 90 degrees or 180 degrees so the fan wire comes out of the top so it uses more length and doesnt have to rest on the GPU. However, if it has to, as long as your GPU either has a backplate or if it doesn't, if it rests on anything but the actual back of the GPU itself then you'll be fine

If it's excess cable use a little trash bag twist-tie to tighten the slack.

The fan orientation is already in a position where I have most cable to work with, but not enough to route it to the top.  I can't seem to get the cable off the graphic card back board.  I might be able to if I buy several extension and make a route through the top, but I would prefer not to do that if unnecessary.  There is around a 5" cable slack sitting on the gpu backboard.  Does the backboard get really hot?
