Katy Perry is confused

katy-perry-3.jpg

So I heard that the new Katy lake architecture was coming out soon and it kind of screwed up my build plans (maybe). What I'm wondering is 3 things. 1) will the z170 boards work with this or do I need to get the z270 or is it just a bios update? 2) should I even get a Kapy lake cpu? Is it even worth it for gaming? And 3) will it replace sky lakes pricing? (Meaning will it be the same cost as the current sky lake CPUs). Thanks in advance!

1. Kaby Lake or Katy Lake or Kany LAke or whatever Lake will use 1151 socket which is fine with z170 motherboard

2. 10% increase over latest 6700k compared to 7700k kabylake

3. No.

I thought leaked benchmarks were more like 4.5% and the benchmark used literally made zero sense in scoring according to @Lays

From what I've seen the only reason there is a performance increase is because the clock speeds are higher.  There is no IPC increase as far as I know.

Do you reckon OC ceiling will be higher on air compare to Skylake?

From the sounds of it Kaby lake is kind of how Devil's canyon was to Haswell, so maybe an extra 100 mhz or something on average
