Hi

I had uploaded this topic last week but seemed no one saw it. I just want to ask if I have a i7559 and with 8gb of ram and i want to upgrade more ram. Does it make the laptop run better? If yes how many gb should I go for and what brand or where to buy them?

I use this laptop most on gaming and loading videos.

Thanks for your help!!!

more ram will only benefit you if your PC can use that much ram. if you want your PC to be faster then just get a SSD.

Do you think 960 4gb can go with 24gb total?

if you can use all the 24GB of ram then yea, if you just use about 8GB of ram under full load then 16GB is best for you. if you use 6GB total under load then 8GB would suffice.

I have quick question. Do I have to download any software after I put a new Ram into my laptop or just put it in and use it?

no you do not need to download any drivers for the memory, its just plug and play. However if you do not use all the ram you have installed in you laptop currently then it would be a waste of money buying more ram. Id instead recommend you use that money to buy a 256GB or 500GB SSD and then you'd notice a speed boost with your PC. What do you even do with your laptop and how much Ram do all your applications use total?

I just feel like my laptop open stuff slowly like it has take a second to open something. like loading League, Overwatch and GTA 5

how much ram is currently in your PC? if you have at least 8GB or 12GB then your are fine and all you need is just to swap out the hard drive for a SSD.
