Hey everyone, I am completely new to the PC gaming world and am looking to begin saving up to build a good PC that I can upgrade as I learn more. I have picked out a mother board (ASUS X99-Deluxe II LGA 2011-v3), a case (Thermaltake Overseer RX-I), monitor (Nixeus NX-VUE24A), and ram cards (4x8GB Ripjaws V Series 288-Pin DDR4 3333). I've been doing my research and I've hit a roadblock. I'm not sure what CPU, Video Card, Power Supply, and hard drives to get (if that's all I need). I think I want to get an Intel i5 CPU for now until I can upgrade financially, but I'm not sure what kind will match my chosen motherboard. I'm looking to build this computer by the end of 2017. Any help would be much appreciated.

I would get a Z170 motherboard pairing with a i7 6700k

how much you want to spend

I agreed with this statement. It's better for the price to performance to go with the Z170 platform. I am using the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming motherboard but that was a budget oriented choice. AS far as video card if you are budget focused a Gtx 1060 is the sweetspot right now.

Hard Drive are more a choice of PPBG (Price per GB) to make sure you get a good value from a reputable brand, such as WD or Samsung

I'm hoping to keep the total below $2000, and I'm hoping to make it compete with current consoles. The games I'm most focused on are Skyrim, Battlefield 1, and Star Craft. I'd also like to be able to use it to complete my scholastically based tasks seeing as I'll be going to college next year, but I'm not sure that would involve.
