Unlikely to be the raid card, much more likely it's one or both the drives. Backup as soon as you can. I'd advise looking into getting SpinRite as it can fix dying drives and maintains them too. You do need to boot from a USB drive to run it but it's kept my drives from ever dying.

good thing i keep good back ups of all of my important files and stuff. I have had these drives for less than a year do you think that they would fail that fast? they are 2 intel 535  24gb drives that i got new i did not thin that they would die that fast they are not cheep drives

Probably not failed, just a few bad sectors which the drive is stalling on, spinrite fixes these basically by testing the entire drive and telling the drive the problems so it can fix itself. Also not sure how well trim works in raid.

What speeds are you getting in Windows? If it's normal it's likely the drives are fine anda sector or two at the start of the drives is hanging making booting slow.

Hi there :)

As @r4tch3t suggested, this is more likely to be coming from elsewhere. Could you give more details regarding your system (such as a full list of parts and configurations) and what you are doing on it (OS, applications, usage)?

Testing each drive and checking their S.M.A.R.T. status' raw values should give you pretty accurate information regarding their health. If you are not sure how to read them feel free to post them here.

Also, the OS might have gotten corrupted either because of issues with the storage drive or for some other reason and thus not allowing you to use it. Do you have your OS on that array or on another storage drive?

i have 2 3tb hdd in a raid 1 (for large files and important stuff) and i also have the two intel 535 240gig ssds in a raid 0

i do not know how to test the  S.M.A.R.T. status though

yes i do have the os on the raid 0 drives

Since you are using the onboard controller on your motherboard for the RAID0 array you may want to check the motherboard manual for ways to check the array's health. You should be able to check that in the BIOS/UEFI window and should see the S.M.A.R.T. status of the drives in the array.

I'd also download a tool from the manufacturer of the other two drives that are in a software RAID and see if those drives pass that test as such slow downs are often caused by problematic secondary storage drives.
