HI everyone

                  iv have been trying to set up a second router as a ap iv managed to get it working, on the second router DCHP server is switched of and the wifi ssid and password is the same wifi Chanel one the first router is on Chanel 2 and the second Chanel is on 11 all my devices can get an ip and can connect to both routers apart from my pc, every now and then when the pc try's to connect it says unrecognised network and i cant get online or access non of the routers 

 

 any help will be appreciated

Have you tried talking to you ISP?

no, not this time as when iv had problems before they couldn't help me when its something i want to do like using  a different router or a port was closed they say i need to talk to some one els and they passed me a number when i rang that number you have to pay for there help

UPDATE: iv changed the ssid of the second router and its still the same

Two things I think it could be off the top of my head....

 

1. Make sure that the cable between the two routers is plugged into a LAN port. On both ends. It should be...

Modem -> WAN on Router 1/LAN on Router 1 -> LAN on Router 2

 

2. You have a fault somewhere along the line. Either a cable, the NIC on your PC or one of your Routers/APs

Your ISP probably isn't going to help you with this. As far as they're concerned everything on your side of the modem is your problem

thank you, yea its like that, apart from the 1st router is a modem aswell, my server is pluged into the second router and it can get an ip so DCHP is working fine from the 1st router, lan 1 on 1st router conected to lan 1 on second

Is your PC set to DHCP?

Has your PC got an IP address within the range of the routers DHCP?

 

If everything else will connect to the router/access point fine, then I would say it's the settings of the PC that is wrong maybe?

iv just checked the ip of the pc and yes its in its range and its not static, iv got a feeling its the pc to has eveything els seems to work, i did find some thing interesting in my 1st router, my ip address for the pc is in port forward settings but because its a ip router it wont let me change it (unles i cant find the settings)   (its a smart hub from bt (uk)) iv tryed with a usb wifi adaptor and same results

update: my other devices seem to stay connected but it struggles to get a web page loaded
