That's not true, you can download SteamOS and install it on any PC you like (that meets the requirements).

any one used steam os? im thinking about using steam os. its free? dose it work for a computer that is only going to play games

That's not true, you can download SteamOS and install it on any PC you like (that meets the requirements).

Steam os is just debian with steam preinstalled. Id suggest going with ubuntu as its a much better desktop. Steam OS doesnt have a desktop or browser than you get with ubuntu and desiged to be used only with a tv.
