I recently bought the rx 480 8GB nitro + and am using sapphire trixx to overclock with fixed fan to keep the temperature below 70C.

I've managed to get it running at

1424mhz core and

8110mhz VRAM stable

with +72mV and +50% power limit.

If i go any higher i get a few stability issues rather than crashes but 3dmark will crash and not detect it has crashed or been terminated. If the temperature goes above 70C it crashes. Peak power use is 350W which i only got by playing serious sam 3 BFE, maxing out every setting at 1080p. The average power use during gaming is about 200W and the card has 8pin. I use an evga board and they boast of being able to provide 150W through PCIe.

I'd like to overclock further, it doesnt feel like much of an overclock getting 120Mhz more from the card's 1304Mhz stock. my previous card the AMD 7970 could overclock to 1275Mhz and could play crysis 3 or even run benchmarks at that frequency on the reference sapphire design with fan cooling and more noise.
