I'm just curious, is there a UK version of MIT?

What do you mean? Like a university comparable to MIT in terms of education standard?

Top universities like Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial College London, etc.

 

If you're open to Ireland too, Trinity College in Dublin is also excellent. Very good engineering facilities.
