So i recently built a new rig and i tried to plug in the monitor to start installing windows, and i only have a dvi/vga monitor lying around, but it wont post when plugged into the motherboard's vga port, but it does post when i plug into my tv which has a hdmi on the gpu, and it only post on gpu, I tried to plug hdmi to motherboard still no post. So im wondering why it's like that, is it a defected io, or its like that until i install drivers? Thanks, not really good at english so please ask questions if youre confused.

It's trying to run off the GPU. Just connect a DVI cable to your GPU instead, your iGPU isn't outputting video bc you have a discrete card

discrete card = GPU that isn't on your CPU [iGPU]

What happens when you boot without the gpu in and run straight off the ig?

It's probably because the CPU (hence the motherboard's VGA) has it's integrated graphics turned off. If you have a separate graphics card, aka a discrete card, that's what will be on. Plus, it's what you'll want to use: it has much more horsepower than the integrated one (iGPU).

PSU: Corsair RM750 (2019)

Displays: ASUS VS247 & ASUS VH169
