Yes OP. Make sure its 240pin DDR3 and you'll be fine.

DDR3 Ram can only be placed in a DDR2 board.

Basicly yes. But there's little things like max size, usually 32gb, and max fequency. Latter depends if mobo has XMP profiling or not. But if you buy any general kit like 2x4gb 1600MHz it fill go with any ddr3 mobo with dual/quad slots.

Yes but you would have to read your motherboard specs to see if it supports those speeds and the max size that the motherboard supports.

Depends if it's ECC or not, for a non-server or workstation board you generally want non-ECC ram.
