HDD firmware update error?

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

After running Seagate DriveDetect (http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/004206en?language=es) it says no newer software is available for my HDD.

So this is it, no further action needed other than claiming warranty if my HDD continues failing.

I'll mark this thread solved.

Hi

I've had some minor problems with my Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 1TB HDD (sometimes it would stop reading and PC would freeze for 1min) so I decided to do a firmware update.

I,ve started with the .exe file here http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/223651en?language=es but after reboot, it has stopped were it begun. It hasn't shown processes as it should have (http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/004559en?language=es).

It's been stuck here for 1h20min (picture). I'd like to just reboot manually but I don't know what this screen means!:(

Any help to solve this or to explain what's happening will be much appreciated

I've just rebooted by pushing the button 'reboot' of my NOX case. BIOS recognized the HDD and the system booted correctly.

While on this screen system looked as if it wasn't doing anything.

If I try to run the update again I'll post the results.

Looks odd that the firmware update page displays: "Previous versions of firmware with these models and part numbers are CC46, CC47, CC49, CC4C, or CC4G." The info of my HDD says it has CC43. I'm going to ask for technical assistance on the Seagate page.
