HELP!!!

Hi there, my laptop used to work absolutely fine until a few weeks a go when it suddenly restarted and then came up with *No bootable device-- please restart system. Now that's all it does when I turn it on. Can anyone help please

Sounds like a hard drive failure.

Go into the bios and ensure that the boot device is set to your HDD. If it doesnt show up... it probably is broken

It's shows up and it's set to it. I'm so confused

Even if it shows your hdd it still may not function. Might just need to repair windows (never worked for me) or reinstall windows. If drive has failed an upgrade is in your future.

It shows up and it's set to hdd. I'm so confused

You will need to reinstall windows.

The drive is probably failing anyway so reinstalling will be a short term solution, if it works at all.

Create a bootable usb or dvd of Windows, plug it in your computer and follow the instruction

You may be able to get some data off the drive if it hasn't compleatly failed yet.

there are dozens of youtube guides on the matter. go type that exact same question into google or youtube and follow any one of those guides. Microsoft also has a guide like that on their website
