Now i just had a thought that since there are far more 1080p gamers than 1440p ones, it seems as though the 760(4Gb)/770(4Gb) & 280X/7950/7970 are the most ideal cards for such individuals who want a good single card solution without dropping a ton of cash on video cards.

is this idea correct?(logical rather)

just out of curiosity after looking at 760/770/780/7970/280X scores =)

4gb 770? I think the 2gb model is just fine for single card 1080p.

7950 7970 are the only cards that have truly "wowed" me with their price-performance.

780 mainly due to the ridiculous nature of GK110. its a beast but not worth the dough ATM

Personally I picked up a Asus Direct CU II 7970 and its just a complete beast and was a complete steal with all the sales going on, on the 7900 series because of the new cards i would recommend picking up a 7950 or 7970 there both faster then the 760 and they mainly compete with the 770, also they both have a 3Gb VRAM so 1080p with very high textures will not use more then 1.5 GB but its always nice to have some more then 2Gb's just for future titles but if your picking up a 770 don't waste money on the 4Gb model your not going to see any performance increase over the 770 2Gb

Memory bus is too small on the GTX 770 and 760 so 4GB models will be useless because you won't be able to use all of it. Think of it like a small tunnel. You can have as many cars as you want, but I'd the tunnel is too small than a traffic jam will occur. Which is why the 7950 and 7970 are amazing because they CAN utilize all the VRAM. Same goes for R7 and R9

There are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary, and those who don't.
