Multi DIMM config problems?

Looking in to upgrading my ram, would I have problems if I brought 2 16gb sticks and added them to my 2 8gb sticks if they're the same brand, type and speed?

 

theyll be in a 2 x dual channel setup NOT quad channel

Most important is same voltage, different speed/cas/capacity doesn't have much of a impact

It shouldn't be a problem both are 1.35 voltage, roughly the same cas/speed

what do you need  48 gigs of ram for though?

I don't, I just wanted to upgrade to 32gb but then thought "hey, I wonder if I can just slot them in with my existing kit to get even more ram" rather than sell them on

 

still undecided as to whether I wanna just sell them on or keep them though haha

I assume you made sure your motherboard supports 16GB DIMMs?, if so then, like Aytex wrote, it shouldn't be a problem.

According to this it supports 64gb max, and seeing as there are only 4 slots on the board then I would assume so?
