Ive got a budget of £850 MAX 900 and ill be doing gaming and very light content creation , looking to max out all 1080p settings and getting past that 60fps point . Id like to play games such as gta v , witcher and some older games

Just get a GTX 1060 (unless rx 480 which I'm not sure how it performs in content creation)

This is about what you're looking at. left you a bit of money to play round with to adjust and swap some things if you want, but this is about what you get for your budget. (maybe use the extra for a better motherboard)

Depending on your kind of "content creation" your workload will probably benefit from hyperthreading significantly, which the 6600k does not have. plus more and more games as we go forward are going to be able to make better use of hyperthreading as well, so it should be able to out perform or perform equally to the 6600k is a lot of games as well (unless you have a pretty outrageous clockspeed on the 6600k, but you won't be able to afford the kind of cooling you need to chase those numbers) and your gtx 1060 will need games turned down in you graphics settings in order to really get high enough to outrun your 6700 on the handful of AAA titles that it won't be able to hit 144fps on.

basically what I'm saying is that in gaming your gtx 1060 is going to be the bottleneck regardless of your CPU choice, so you may as well get the better one for your productivity.
