I enjoy my triple monitor setup for productivity and *some* games.  I usually don't play games across all 3 screens, but rather fullscreen on one monitor and use the other 2 for whatever else I am doing in the background.

I wouldn't invest the money in the 3 4K screens unless I was 100% certain that my system could drive them at settings that were more than acceptable.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I first tried 3x 1920x1200 Eyefinity gaming with a dual HD5870 a while back, and have basically stuck with a triple monitor gaming setup since then. I recently move from that triple monitor to a single 29" Uw which has also since been replaced by an Acer XR341CK 34" Uw and I'm never gonna look back.

Yes, with triple monitor, you get a wider viewing angle which is great for Fps and racing SIM's but not so great for watching movies, another con is all that extra cables for power and display. A single UW has that advantage of NOT needing those extra and messy cables, plus WS movies cropped to fit the entire screen is just great eye candy

I had a triple 27" 1080p setup and I'm currently using a 34" ultrawide Samsung and honestly the only time I miss the triple screens is while playing racing titles.
