PC won't turn on.

Hey guys,

 

So my PC won't turn on and I'm wondering if my PSU is dead. Like my mobo light is on, my GPUs lights are on, my power supply is turned on and plugged in. When I press the power button nothing happens. I have a EVGA supernova 850 GS 80 plus gold power supply.

if the lights are on, then its not a psu problem. is you monitor plugged in correctly? is everything connected properly (power button)?

The monitors are plugged into an extension cord. Yes they are plugged in correctly. I'm gonna check the wiring again.

Is this a new build or was it previously working fine and this just happened? Any hardware changes?

Not enough

CPU: A10-7850k

RAM: G Skill Ares 16 GB 1866 DDR3

SSD: 1 120 GB Kingston, 2 240 GB SSD

GPU: 2 R9 380s

HDD: 2 1TB Seagate 

PSU: EVGA supernova 850 GS 80 plus gold 

Mobo: FM2+ Gigabyte F2A88X-UP4

 

This happened when I added the other 240 GB SSD

This is a two year old build.

So no hardware changes? Do the fans spin up at all or does the system just act as if you hadn't pressed the power switch? If that's the case, could just disconnect the pwr switch header from mobo and short those pins with something like a screwdriver to see if the switch itself is malfunctioning

Well I plugged the PSU power cable into a different outlet and it magically worked. Thanks guys for the help.

It just turned on when I plugged it into a different outlet. Besides the extra 240 GB SSD not really.
