2500k Overclock vs Voltage?

Hello,

I started to overclock my 2500k today to try it out.
I am currently sitting at 4.6 ghz with 1.475v set in bios and cpuz reporting a voltage of 1.44v.
Is this an ok setup fot 24/7 use?
I booted at 5.0ghz but it required 1.6v set in bios and cpuz reporting 1.54v.

What is the maximum voltage recommended for 24/7 usage to avoid degradation?
I read somewhere that 1.5v and below is fine.
Is this the case?

What cooler do you have?

 

Even with good temperatures I wouldn't go over 1.4v for daily use on a Sandy.

what are your temperatures?

 

i wouldn't go past 1.38v personally....

The cooler is a NH-D14.

Temps are below 60 gaming.

rule of thumb is Intel recommends 1.4v or lower... My Sandy-E runs 1.385v with a 4.5GHz OC and I have it pinned at 100% folding 24/7. People say anything under 1.5v is okay, I wouldn't go over 1.45v but that's just me. The more voltage the quicker the degradation. A difference of 0.005v can be the difference of a few months to a few years of life before it toasts itself

Your temperatures are actually quite good for such a high voltage.

 

Just try to keep below 1.4v, and fiddle around with your board's LLC settings to try and minimize that Vdroop.

upto 1.5v is ok but it will degrade about 100mhz a year at that voltage. 1.4v is the sweet spot.
