Hi,

i have a r9 280x ASUS DCU II and it wasnt overclocked or anything i was just playing Starcraft and it suddenly "died" meaning i just had a huge artifact of white and pink lines, and so i pressed reset just to have an other artifact,

with a few vertical lines and squares moving horizontally in all kind of colors and the little led on the gpu wich used to be green was red, then i restarted again this time exactly the same just it was black and white not colorful. I decided to remove the card to see if there is any physical damage, it looked normal, but upon removal there where two darker spots on the card on the back side around the VRM's , and there was more dust on those spots suggesting that it was sticky or something <see pictures>

so this is where i am if someone has any idea what happened or if its dead for good please let me know.

Thanks!

Do you have an AIO or liquid cooler or a custom loop?? Or have u spilled drinks etc on ur PC! That looks to be liquid damage to me.... My 270x was killed by a leaking Rajintek Triton!

Just try to run the monitor on the onboard video first. If that doesn't work, try to fix the card.

i alredy tried plugging the hdmi cable in to the motherboard but then nothing... not even artifacts, i think its just not using the onboard video (i have i7 4790 non k   and asrock fatality h97)

It just indicates that there's no video card plugged in.
