There isn't much of a bottleneck. If you want to upgrade I'd recommend the i5-6600 (K or non-K).

Depends on what you're playing. Lighter titles and games like BF4 will be fine, newer AAA titles will most likely show some bottlenecking.

Between yours and the 6600? Quite a bit of difference for those games. The upgrade will require a new motherboard and RAM.

The most I can say is "A few frames" or "A good 20 or more frames". Sorry for being vague. You'll have to rely on benchmarks for the 6600 vs a similar 23XX CPU.

im just trying to understand if its worth the money :/

I would wait until Zen comes out to see how the market changes. It might be better to upgrade at that point since it's 5 months or so away.

I would make a PC partpicker build with the 6600 and see if it starts to decrease around Black Friday/Cyber Monday and see if the discount is worth the cost.

your CPU is not bad, it's an ''okay'' match for a 1060...

now, would you get more stable framerates and higher minimum and greater smoothness of animation if you'd get a modern core i5 or i7 CPU? yes you would...

so, get the 1060 now, it's a worthy upgrade...consider a platform upgrade in the future...yes...a CPU is a great christmast gift (sorry for the speeling, i'm drunk)

Of those games, your CPU will max out in: AC Unity, Tomb Raider (the new one,) Far Cry 4 (I had experience with my old 8350 bottlenecking on that,) Fallout 4, and GTA V.

I used to be quite active here.

Depends which game. Fallout 4? Lots. Not much in Far Cry, but it'll definitely limit it. GTA V, only in CPU intensive areas (lots of things happening, lots of people, ect.) I don't know about AC Unity or Tomb Raider.
