Somebody in Taipei signed in to my Twitter

So I deactivated my twitter account about 3 weeks ago, I couldn't stand their spam emails any more despite unsubscribing, today I got an email notifying me of a sign in on my account from "台北市, 台灣" which I translated to Taipei. This is slightly worrying because the log in details I used for twitter I use for more important things, what do I do? I've tried logging in to twitter but the sign in page just refreshes every time I click "Log in"

Never, EVER do this.

Change the passwords on and secure every single account you've ever used those same log-in details with, and never do it again.

Have you tried accessing the email associated with your Twitter account? Nothing strange going on?

Change all your passwords, write them down on paper. Hit the "forgot my password" link and reset it from there.

edit: You should be using a "disposable" email account to use with your social media accounts (less important stuff) and a separate email for your important stuff like Bank accounts, amazon or any online store where you have credit cards stored. etc..

Nothing strange going on with the email, just about to change the password there too.

Thanks for the lecture, I am not going to do it again, important accounts I think I will use apple keychain passwords for.

Hopefully I have solved it now by resetting the password on twitter with a keychain password and then deactivating the account again.

Are you sure the email is actually from twitter? And not a fake site to get your info.
