hi,So this is gonna be a long story.

i was building a new pc who wasn't starting because of bent pins in the motherboard.  i took it apart again,at first only one pin was bent.  (first pic)so i decided to not build any futher until i RMA the board. i only put the cpu and cooler back in. when i took it apart for transportation back to the retailer more pins were bent  (second pic made by retailer) i didn't bent them back because of possible warranty which i didn't get. compare the pics to see for yourself. So before i put in a new mobo. i want to know if the problem has to be with the cooler. it's a corsair H55 watercooler. on the website of the retailer it said the cooler was compatible with the 1151 motherboard.  according to corsair it's not (i saw this later) i saw on the corsair forum that any cooler with socket 1150 is also compatible with 1151(http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=153800). the first time i struggled to get the backplate of the cooler on. but i manged to get it together. i think because of cooler the board is now broken. but i don't know this sure. So is this  safe to put this on the new mobo or not? i don't want another broken mobo

Unless you mounted stuff VERY wrong, then it's not the cooler's fault. While I can't tell you what are you doing wrong, you can bet the problem is a defective located between the scredriver and the chair, not the cooler.

Cooler wouldn't be anywhere near the pins as the CPU would be in the way, lol.

I take it this was a pre-built system? if not then you messed up when installing the CPU yourself. bent pins aren't a big concern really, have had a few mainly on AMD CPUs, I just use a credit card to gently push it back into place, these are just the right thickness.

Then how did you bend the pins? The cooler compatibility only pertains to the mounting holes that the cooler supports. Either it fits or it doesn't. It doesn't bend pins.

that's what i don't know.  maybe how i took it out. I can't really think of another explanation.  the cpu self is fine. no damage to it
