Microsoft is axing Windows Live Mail.

You weren't very clear in your OP.

Microsoft suggests using either its free Mail app or Outlook, the email and personal information manager that is part of Microsoft Office.

Obviouslly Microsoft wants people to pay for Office.

There is a few free applications, but I can't recommend any because I don't like any of them. What about 'eM Client'?

No, I haven't used it. Just had a look for alternatives.

I get Office dirt cheap through my work so I have never had a need for free clients.

If your customers are elderly then they'll probably want something simply? Assuming.

What about Mailbird? It looks relatively easy to use and has a familar layout.

There's The Bat!, emClient, FossaMail, MailBird, and PostBox, the latter three of which are actually based on the Thunderbird core.

All of them cost money, apart from FossaMail which is actually made by the developers of PaleMoon, the 64-bit Firefox clone.

I used the Bat! years ago, when it was one of the only other decent email clients out there.

Since then, I usually opt for WebMail, but completely understand there are many of the older generation who won't giveup their desktop clients.

I've had a chance to play with both PostBox and MailBird, and would lean toward either of the two for simplicity.

I still cannot decide between the two myself, so it would be awesome if someone would compare the two.

Desktop: KiRaShi-Intel-2022 (i5-12600K, RTX2060) Mobile: OnePlus 5T | Koodo - 75GB Data + Data Rollover for $45/month
Laptop: Dell XPS 15 9560 (the real 15" MacBook Pro that Apple didn't make) Tablet: iPad Mini 5 | Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 10.1
Camera: Canon M6 Mark II | Canon Rebel T1i (500D) | Canon SX280 | Panasonic TS20D Music: Spotify Premium (CIRCA '08)
