Help with GTX 1080 vs Korean Monitors

Hecknologist

Hi guys,

I have upgraded my graphics card and the new one only has one DVI port. I have 2 korean 1440p monitors that only take dual link dvi. I have tried:

passive adapters,

a secondary graphics card (GTX 1080 and GT 210 are not supported on a single driver),

an active adapter from display port (was met with lines across my screen),

What can I do to get another full dual-link DVI connection from my PC with spending too much money?

Have you tried HDMI to DVI?  I use one for my PB278Q secondary 1440p monitor.

Yea, unfortunately it will not accept conversion from HDMI due to it only utilizing one link of the dual-link I require. I did look at possibly grabbing a graphics card that uses a gtx 1080 compatible driver, but they are a litle pricey over here in New Zealand.

That, or try to enable a function that the second monitor is powered by the gpu but through the motherboard ports. I did that and it works fine on my 2 monitors (1024*1280)

My motherboard does support Lucid MVP (or something like that) which allows for teaming of onboard and discrete GPUs. Might look into that and see where I get to.

From looking online, it seems to be because the monitors don't have scalers in them. I believe this was done to allow for better overclocking of the refresh rate. I'll have a look at a second hand PB278Q to replace the Catleap Q270, It might be time to upgrade.
