Hi everyone.

I wonder how grounding works for computers in custom case (e.g. PC mounted inside desk). If case is made of wood, will standoff and psu be enough? I also think about cutting off motherboard tray from old case and use it as a base for installation of motherboard and psu. I heard different opinion and I'm a little confused. Can someone explain which way is better? Thanks!

Welcome to the Forums!

For the system the ground is done via the PSU and the 24 pin connector so it shouldn't have any issues.

there is a 3rd pin on the wall socket that connects to your PC is earthing/ grounding your rig, (for UK users anyway)

you dont have to worry, also some cases are powder coated so they dont conduct electricity so cant be used as a source of grounding.
