I don't know if it's only msi that do this but basically I have an A88x e35 v2 and when I try to put an r9 380 on it, the motherboard break. And I have to rma the mobo and I later found out that msi have a limited the amount of compatible gpu but why. Manufacturers like Asus and gigabytes dont have this kind of thing.

Why would it break by putting in a GPU? Makes no sense mon. Never heard something like this.

Check the msi web under support>compatibility you will see cpu,ram and gpu while web like  asus only have cpu and ram

Those are only gpus they test on the board, not the complete list of gpus that will work with the board, really any pcie gpu should work with your board, you have another issue that is causing the gpu not to work.

But all the usb port end up not working the moment I connect the gpu and power it on. So i don't want to put my gpu on this mobo anymore.

Well as we already mentioned, those should not affect eachother. So have you connected everything properly? Whats your PSU? Are drivers up to date? Is your GPU making contact with something besides your PCI slot?

You mentioned RMAing the board. So you have new board now?

Is the Motherboard bios up to date? CMOS cleared? Chipset drivers installed? Or in the bios are the usb ports disabled?

Any one of these could be the issue to why that happens, not the gpu.
