It has a 90W PSU? xDxDxDxD

Run a lighter OS

Use Cortex:Game Boost - http://www.razerzone.com/cortex/boost

Don't run an anti-virus

Lower your settings

Get a light texture pack (is that a thing in GMOD?)

Move to Antarctica so you can stop thermal throttling

Make yourself a cup of tea and relax, patience is a virtue.

He'd need to be gaming outside at birdsville for a 35w celeron to be thermal throttling.xD

Try lowering the settings in the games your playing, gmod will happily run at 720 hell I think it'll even run at 640x480. You can't ask too much from your integrated graphics

Silent build - You know your pc is too loud when the deaf complain. Windows 98 gaming build, smells like beige

There isn't much upgrade path for the CPU, HP has software blocked CPUs that are not 35W, (I have tried a Pentium G860 which is 65W and it said fuck off), You can in theory upgrade to a i5 3570T.

You cannot install a GPU, it is very what you see is what you get.

You could upgrade the 500GB HDD to a SSD, but that will not make it preform better.

Lower your settings and do a clean install, that is really the only thing you should do with this computer, it isn't worth upgrading.

Wait till you've got the money for a new system, even a new core i system will have vastly better integrated graphics.

Or search ebay or gum tree for a secondhand system with a dedicated gpu. There's usually a core 2 quad or similar out there, hell I just threw one out in hard rubbish.

If your on w7, go to performance settings and adjust for best performance, turn off anything running in the system tray you don't need, run ccleaner (download)

Ah... the classic "laptop in an oversized box" PC from HP.

I don't even need to look at the specs; based on that particular Pegatron/ASUS motherboard, you should promptly throw this PC away and buy a new one.

OK, um, don't throw it away, but maybe sell it and upgrade? I can't even suggest using it as a boat anchor because it's so light.

You could add RAM. If you can find some cheap sticks. Its not that long till december so I wouldn't spend anything if I absolutely can avoid it.

What you can do now is lower settings, defrag HDD, maybe reinstall Windows.

I don't think adding RAM would make a difference.

Maybe not. But thats about all OP can do with his current PC. There's little to no availabe CPU upgrades, upgrading GPU would mean changing PSU etc.

well honestly any upgrade i say is going to just be replaced in december than.

Id say maybbe load your OS on an SSD. itll bbe noticeably snappier. but wont help with games etc.  but  could be carried over to the new system
