To root or nah

Should I root my HTC One M9? It is out of its warranty time and I have a iPhone 6s currently (HTC was my previous phone). Whole point would to carrier unlock it and maybe make it so I can use it instead of my iPhone? (And as a fun experiment) (Also switching back to android my next upgrade cycle, FYI)

rooting is pretty fun to do. nowadays it's quite easy. probably the biggest advantages is Xposed and ability to run root apps.

and to brick your phone. 

Mine can't root with kingoroot somehow. s5 neo but I am fine. I did jailbreak my iphone 5s though before

haven't heard much recent phones bricking when you root them. but there is some risk involved when you try

honestly no. its pretty straight forward. havent used a guide in a long while.
