GTX 1050 Perfomance?

The 3gb GTX 1060 is more like your 970 equivalent for pascal (really should've been named the 1050 ti but whatever).  From what I've been hearing, the 1050 is going to be closer to the 960 than it is to the 970.

Hopefully they will release some nice low profile/low power versions and price it appropriately to make it worthwhile.  It should be aiming for the gap 750 ti once filled.

If it will be in middle of 960 and 970 it would be great spot for it, because there is very big difference between this two, so yeah.

There is ~10% differnece between 970 and 470 in DX 11 where 970 wins, but in Vulkan and DX 12 Holy Crap, 470 just wins by very big numbers.

470 truly is a beast.

Actually - driver updates have put the 470 neck and neck with the 970 in DX11

Oh i haven't seen that, then its better!

If I will consider to get RX 470, then I will have another trouble.

RX 470 vs GTX 1060 3GB? 1060 has 1GB less, but delivers better perfomance.

3GB is useless nowadays on such a card

I have to agree with you, Batman Arkham knight gives you stutters if you are playing on high with 3GB of VRAM, same goes for GTA V and Shadow of mordor. Rise of the tomb raider actually uses 6GB VRAM on Ultra.

Pretty damn close to a 3GB 1060 and that outperforms a 970

That's pretty neat actually, but the latest driver that supposedly increased draw calls didn't show improvements, expect for a few DX11 games.

The problem with the 470 (and 480 in fact) is that it throttles below boost frequencies and many reviewers just test it out of the box without increasing the power limit. The mid-range market is so fucked up right now, having to choose between a slightly slower GPU that you MUST tweak to perform up to par or a faster, but VRAM handicapped 1060. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hopefully the 1050 4GB will be a balanced solution for budget 1080p gaming and a true 750 Ti replacement. (low TDP, no power connectors)

Indeed - 1060 Gimped Edition and Reference 470s are a no-win situation. And on mobile, things are basically molten.

Non-reference 470s also have throttling issues due to poor power delivery or a low temp target. Asus Strix and XFX RS are the first I can think of that have the said issue.

But that's to be expected when some AIBs use cheap components (Gigabyte) and others put thermal paste like this: (XFX)

We are in the same place like a few years ago when AIBs couldn't meet the demand of Radeons (thanks to miners) and just spewed out low-quality products.
