Gamecube controller

I bought a Gamestop Gamecube controller with turbo some years ago. Now I want to use it as a controller for steam. I have the official Wii U adapter. There is one problem though: The Turbo button. Is there any way to make the Turbo button work as a normal button? (So it works with x360ce)

flash new firmware to the controller some how??? as far as I know that is hard coded into the controller unless you do some serious modding

Probably not, those older controllers usually used a dumb circuit to cycle the input on and off multiple times a second, meaning the turbo button isn't actually wired to any sort of input.
